The territorial dispute: China and Vietnam

Paracel Islands — an archipelago consisting of 30 small uninhabited islands, equidistant from China and Vietnam. Until 1974, part of the archipelago belong to these countries until the already tense relations not escalated into an armed conflict, during which killed 71 servicemen.

Since then, all the islands belong to China, and Vietnam is trying to challenge. April 16 became known that China is building on the Paracel Islands runway. This fact angered the United States and China’s neighbors alarmed.
